VooDoo - A Re-introduction
VooDoo has been around for a good few years now, owned from day one by a Japanese cycling enthusiast Shinji Mizutani. With the knowledge and guidance of mountain bike legend, Joe Murray, VooDoo has consistently produced high quality, well designed bikes with superb craftsmanship, offering excellent value for money.
VooDoo closed its doors in U.K. in the autumn of 1999 and left a loyal following that still mourn the loss of the brand. Yet since pulling out of the U.K. VooDoo has still been alive and well in Japan. In the summer of 2003, Shinji and Joe got back together to get VooDoo rolling and up to speed again. So here you have it. VooDoo is back! Some of what's new and still tried and true at VooDoo:
"VooDoo still has many of the hardtail models that made them famous. We believe the hardtail is still very much alive and kickin'! For 2006 most of our classic hardtail frames are tweaked for 100MM forks and one model uses a 125MM travel fork, all with disc mounts and removable canti bosses. We have also designed an adjustable dropout used on Wanga, Bakka, Bokor, Aizan, Dambala, Limba, and Wazoo that allows the use of gearing, singlespeed (or fixed gear even) with standard disc caliper mounting whilst still being able to use a quick release hub.
"Offering all models with size specific tubing allows us to fine tune the ride, not only of each frame, but of each size too - so bigger bikes are stronger and stiffer, smaller ones are lighter. The time and effort that goes into the design and construction of each frame shines though and we hope you'll be as happy riding your VooDoo as we are providing them for you."
Here's to sunny skies, dry trails and happy days...
